Abstract

1. Invitation to Submit

The Scientific Organizing Committee cordially invites clinical researchers, academic faculty, fellows, residents, and allied healthcare professionals to submit original scientific abstracts for the Best of MENA Medical Research Conference 2027.

This premier multidisciplinary congress is dedicated to showcasing high-impact medical research conceived, conducted, or clinically relevant to the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. Accepted abstracts will be programmed as either Oral Keynote Presentations, Moderated Podium Sessions, or Digital Poster Exhibits, with selected high-ranking papers published in indexed conference proceedings.

2. Submission Categories & Tracks

Submissions must demonstrate scientific rigor, clear clinical translation, or public health relevance. Abstracts are accepted under the following five core multidisciplinary tracks:

Track 1: Precision Medicine, Multi-Omics & Oncology
  • Population-scale genomics and regional variant discovery.

  • Targeted oncology therapies, immunotherapy trials, and non-invasive circulating biomarkers.

  • Rare diseases, pharmacogenomics, and inherited metabolic disorders.

Track 2: Cardiometabolic & Endocrine Disorders
  • Type 2 diabetes epidemiology, microvascular/macrovascular outcomes, and metabolomics.

  • Early-onset coronary artery disease and cardiovascular risk reduction.

  • Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD/MASLD) and obesity medicine.

Track 3: Digital Health, AI & Biomedical Engineering
  • Clinical validation of predictive AI and deep-learning diagnostic models.

  • Real-world evidence (RWE), health informatics, and clinical registry analytics.

  • Medical imaging innovations, remote diagnostics, and telemedicine scalability.

Track 4: Infectious Diseases & Public Health Surveillance
  • Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) patterns and stewardship programs.

  • Viral respiratory surveillance (RSV, influenza, emerging coronaviruses).

  • Climate health, environmental exposures, and regional vector-borne disease dynamics.

Track 5: Surgery, Perioperative Care & Organ Transplantation
  • Robotic and minimally invasive surgery outcomes.

  • Solid organ transplantation protocols and donor-recipient compatibility studies.

  • Trauma systems, perioperative pain management, and critical care innovation.

3. Abstract Guidelines & Formatting

All submissions must adhere strictly to the following parameters:

  • Word Limit: Maximum 300 words (excluding title, authors, institutional affiliations, and disclosures).

  • Structure: Abstracts for empirical studies must follow a structured layout:

    • Background & Objectives: Clear statement of context and the specific research hypothesis.

    • Methods: Study design, participant/sample criteria, analytical techniques, and ethical approvals.

    • Results: Concrete quantitative or qualitative findings with statistical parameters ($p$ -values, confidence intervals, sample sizes). Phrases like "results will be discussed" will lead to immediate rejection.

    • Conclusion & Clinical Impact: Direct translational significance for clinical practice or regional healthcare delivery.

    • Tables/Figures: A maximum of one small table or graphic (JPEG/PNG, min. 300 DPI) may be included (counts as 50 words toward the total limit).

  • Ethical Compliance: All clinical and animal trials must explicitly declare Institutional Review Board (IRB) or Independent Ethics Committee (IEC) clearance.

4. Peer-Review Process & Evaluation Criteria

All submissions will undergo a double-blind, peer-review process conducted by the Scientific Advisory Panel. Abstracts are scored on a standard 100-point rubric across five dimensions:

  1. Regional Relevance & Impact (25%): Does the study directly address disease burdens, clinical outcomes, or demographic realities relevant to the MENA population?
  2. Methodological Quality (25%): Appropriateness of study design, statistical power, cohort size, control parameters, and reproducible methodologies.
  3. Novelty & Scientific Merit (20%): Does the research contribute novel data, challenge existing paradigms, or provide first-in-region validation of emerging therapeutic approaches?
  4. Data Integrity & Clarity (15%): Quality of data reporting, transparency in reporting effect sizes, and logical consistency between data and deductions.
  5. Practical Translation (15%): Potential to influence clinical guidelines, health economic decisions, or regional healthcare policy.
5. Awards & Recognition
  • Best MENA Clinical Research Award: Recognizes the highest-scoring original research abstract presented in the plenary session.
  • Young Investigator Award: Awarded to an outstanding abstract submitted by a clinical fellow, resident, or post-doctoral researcher under 35 years of age.
  • Travel Bursaries: A competitive bursary program will assist selected early-career researchers from emerging MENA institutions with travel and accommodation expenses.
6. Submission Portal & Inquiries

Submissions must be uploaded via the official conference submission portal. Emailed manuscripts will not be processed. Scientific Secretariat Inquiries: conferences@menamedicalresearch.com

Note: Late submissions will not be reviewed. Presenting authors of accepted abstracts must register for the conference by the author registration deadline to secure their slot in the scientific program.
